Look What I Made: Repurposed Necklace

July 16, 2012

Broken Necklace

I got this necklace free when I bought a set of bangles at a yard sale and I’ve been meaning to fix it up ever since.

My Beads

I cut off the string and removed the wires around the beads on the end. I knew I wanted to make a necklace from the beads, but I didn’t know how long or how many strands so I just free-styled it. Using a clear, elastic cord I ended up with two strands which I then tied to some jump rings and a lobster clasp.

My New Necklace and Bracelet

I had enough beads to make another necklace, but decided to just go the simple route and make myself a bracelet. PS: Brushing a bit of top coat onto your knots will help keep them from unraveling. :)

Outfit Blue and Orange 1

I totally rocked both of them this weekend

I still have a few left over beads, but I’m not really sure what I should do with them yet so I’m just keeping them around until inspiration strikes!
