A Picnic with my Mermaid

I made a resolution this year to go on 12 dates with my best friend Hannah because we don’t hang out enough. WE NEVER HANG OUT ENOUGH! I say date and not “hang out” because I didn’t just want to laze around and do nothing. I wanted to go out and have an awesome time doing something that I don’t do everyday. Because a best friend is equally as important as a significant other and relationships as special as these have to be celebrated too.

For our first date of the year and our last day together before her big move, my mermaid and I decided to go on a picnic. It probably wasn’t the best day weather-wise and we didn’t have everything on my list of picnic must-haves, but it was still a pretty amazing picnic. Not only that, but it was a pretty amazing day full of reasons why I love this girl so much. She’s the only person I’ve ever met who will not only buy food for needy people standing on the side of the road, but also cares about buying them a good-quality, balanced meal. :) I had a lovely time taking pictures while she serenaded me on her ukulele and I can’t wait for February!
